Wednesday 3-30-11

Today Lucy and I went shopping with Gigi and Amber. Amber had today off of work and it was really nice to have the extra company on our shopping trip. We had lunch at Olive Garden and Gigi walked Lucy back out to the car. I was surprised to get such a great picture of the two of them both smiling and looking at the camera!

Tuesday 3-29-11

Lucy has been sleeping horribly the last couple nights. Last night she was up from 2am to 5am. I've been trying to keep her from sleeping too much during the day in case that's part of the problem but today she was just so tired that I couldn't stop her. I was on the phone with my Mom around 4:30pm when I looked in the living room and saw Lucy slumped over on the chair fast asleep. She likes to climb up on that chair to look out the window. I've never seen her fall asleep on her own without the binky other than in the car, so she must have been REALLY tired!

Monday 3-28-11

Today was a lounge day at home after Lucy's physical therapy. I did some laundry because I've let it go for way too long. I brought a basket of clothes upstairs and set them in the living room while I went to do something else. When I came back to fold them I found this block in there with them. Apparently Lucy felt it needed to be there. lol!

Sunday 3-27-11

Today was an early day. Lucy has been getting up in the middle of the night and/or really early for the last week. This morning she got up at 5:30am. We decided to go to church for first service and Lucy and I took Grandma to the grocery store while Daddy stayed to usher for the second service. We came home and took naps. Here's Lucy before her nap sitting on the couch watching a movie with Daddy.

Saturday 3-26-11

This morning we went out shopping at Kohls with Nana. It was a great trip. We all got new shoes and I absolutely love my new sneakers! Nana took us shopping before and bought me sneakers for my birthday and they ended up not fitting right so we returned them and these new ones were my replacement pair. It's so nice to have good-fitting sneakers again!

We had lunch at Olive Garden and then Nana had to get home to go to church with Gigi. Joe and I decided to go back out on our own. I suggested going to Cranberry because they have a lot there but of course they didn't have any of the stores I really wanted. We got out the GPS and ended up going to Ross Park Mall from there and Joe was giving me a hard time about my "screw up" until he found out that Kris Letang was signing autographs at the Ross Park Mall. He of course wanted to get one because Letang is his favorite player so Lucy and I had almost 2 hours to waste while he waited in line to get his autograph.

Friday 3-25-11

Lucy hasn't been sleeping well over the last few nights. Tonight we went to a "home" party that my cousin and step-cousin were having. It went a little long and Lucy just didn't last. She fell asleep on Nana.

Thursday 3-24-11

Tonight Lucy and I took a ride with Nana and Pap to check out their new trailer. They bought a camp site on the river and got a new trailer to replace the one that is there. It is very nice and we're really excited about spending weekends up there this summer.

I forgot to take a picture of the trailer while we were there, but here's one of Lucy getting her bath when we got home.

Wednesday 3-23-11

Today was a crazy day! The morning was gorgeous but around 4pm we got this insane storm that passed through very quickly. It was hailing like crazy. Here's a picture of the hail hitting the sidewalk in front of our house. The storm passed in about 10 minutes and then we left for Gram's house for knitting night. She always has the news on and while I thought our storm was pretty crazy apparently it was nothing in comparison to other places close-by. Many had hail the size of golf balls and in Greensburg there was even a tornado that touched down briefly.

Tuesday 3-22-11

Joe had today off of work too. We didn't do much but hang around home. Again, I forgot to take a picture so here's another one of Lucy from last week at Nana and Pap's house.

Monday 3-21-11

This morning we met the physical therapist at the mall to give Lucy a change of scenery and see if she'd do more at the play place because it was new and exciting. Joe had the day off of work too so we did a little shopping afterwards and then relaxed at home the rest of the day.

I forgot to take a picture today so here is one I have from last week at Nana and Pap's house. It's of the sunset from their deck. It's especially gorgeous this time of year when there are no leaves on the trees and you can really see the whole sunset.

Sunday 3-20-11

Today after church we went to the Zoo with Grandma and Uncle Nick. Lucy had a great time!

Saturday 3-19-11

Tonight was the "Super Moon". Here's the best picture Joe got of it.

Friday 3-18-11

After Lucy's EEG they admitted us to the hospital. By morning Lucy was so bored and restless and we all couldn't wait for her to be unhooked from the electrodes! Here she is walking with Daddy and seeing what was going on in the hallway since we haven't been able to leave the room in 24 hours!

Thursday 3-17-11

Happy St. Patrick's Day!

Our morning was pretty crazy and the rest of the day was pretty boring. We had to be up really early to be down at the hospital for 7am for Lucy's 23-hour EEG. It was a very long day!

Wednesday 3-16-11

Today we just relaxed at Nana and Pap's house. Tomorrow is Lucy's big EEG so today was a relaxing, get-ready day.

Tuesday 3-15-11

Not much going on today. We're at Nana and Pap's again for the day. This evening I plan on going to the gym so Lucy will be going to Gigi and Papi's house for dinner. I think Molly's finally started to like Lucy (or just tolerate her well), today Lucy was sitting and petting Molly, playing with her collar and even grabbing her nose and Molly just laid there and let her do it. Normally when Lucy gets anywhere close to Molly, Molly will get up and run away.

Monday 3-14-11

Last night we stayed at home instead of Nana and Pap's house because Lucy had PT early this morning. After her PT she took a nice long nap to catch up from not sleeping well all weekend and the time change. Then we went back over to Nana and Pap's to take care of the dog and stayed until about dinner time. Here's Lucy having lunch at Nana and Pap's.
We went back home to have dinner with Daddy and then we went up to the mall to pick up the crib we ordered for the baby. While there we did a little shopping and got Lucy a new shirt and got a couple really cute outfits for the new baby. It was a really nice night.

Sunday 3-13-11

Today we had church as we usually do. It was a very tiring morning. Lucy hasn't been sleeping well at Nana and Pap's house and she was up at 5am, which was especially difficult with it being daylight savings and us losing an hour of sleep. Even Lucy was miserable by the time we got to the grocery store after church.

Saturday 3-12-11

Today was a really boring day at Nana and Pap's house. It's not nearly as fun when they're not here.

Friday 3-11-11

Today has been really rainy! At 3pm Pap came to pick Lucy and I up to take us over to their house. We played for a while until Nana got home from work. Then we had dinner with them and waited for Uncle Adam and Dee to arrive. Nana, Pap, Uncle Adam and Dee left for Florida tonight and Joe, Lucy and I will be dog/house sitting all week. Lucy had a good time playing with Pap before they left.

Thursday 3-10-11

Lucy is 22 months old today! Where has the time gone? Hard to believe in just 2 short months she's going to be 2 years old!!

We haven't done much today, just hung out at home. Lucy was supposed to go to Gigi and Papi's house tonight while I go to the gym but Nana wanted to see Lucy so she talked me into having Pap-Pap watch her instead. After we got back from the gym Nana had a great time playing with Lucy... and it didn't take Lucy long to discover her new potty chair in Nana's bathroom (she has the same one at home). We haven't started potty training yet, just got the chair to introduce her to it, so Nana thought this would be the perfect opportunity to try it out. Lucy was less interested in sitting on it as she was in playing with it. lol!

Wednesday 3-9-11

Today Lucy was back to her normal self. We played at home for a while and then we went over to Nana and Pap's house to visit for a little bit. Pap has been laid off here and there so he was home today and was going to change the oil in our van for us but because it was really raining and we just hit 3000 miles, we just checked it, added some oil and we're going to wait until they get back from vacation next week to change it. But Lucy had a lot of fun walking Pap all around the house anyways.

Tuesday 3-8-11

Today was a VERY busy day. We were up at 6am, had a big breakfast, then got ready and took Lucy to the Children's Museum. She had SO much fun! We made a screen-printed picture, paper and painted in the studio. Lucy played in Mr. Rodgers' Neighborhood. She went down a slide with Daddy (she wasn't crazy about that one because it was enclosed). She played with a giant lite-brite, climbed in a car and looked at some fish. She really enjoyed the train table, but her absolute favorite was the water floor. She had a blast playing in the pools of water and "building" pipes off of the water pipes sticking out of the floor.
After the Children's Museum we had to be at Children's Hospital because Lucy had an MRI at 3pm. The rest of the afternoon/evening wasn't much fun but we're glad it's done and that she did have a good day before.

Monday 3-7-11

For the last 3 days Lucy has been getting up at 5-6am. Because of this she ends up taking a morning and an afternoon nap. Yesterday she took a late nap and didn't want to go to bed at night. We finally got her down at 10pm. This morning she slept in for a change. It would have been nicer if the physical therapist wasn't coming and I could have slept in too but I got up with my alarm and managed to take a shower and get dressed without waking Lucy. When I went in to get her this is how I found her. Under her pillow. lol!

Sunday 3-6-11

Last night Grandma called Joe to tell him that they wouldn't be going to church in the morning. Both she and Uncle Nick had a cold and they didn't want to risk Lucy getting it before Tuesday. We were going to take the opportunity to try out a different church which is closer to home. Nana and Pap were going to watch Lucy so that we wouldn't have to put her in a strange nursery but when we got up Sunday morning it was snowing like crazy. It was really disappointing because I really wanted to try out this new church but even I didn't want to risk going out in the snow. So we just stayed in all day in our PJ's and relaxed.

Saturday 3-5-11

Tonight we went out to dinner at Villa Ballanca for Uncle Mike's 40th birthday (which is actually 3/9). It was really great. It was nice to be out with the family and the food was delicious!

Friday 3-4-11

Today Joe had off of work because he worked overnight last night from about midnight to 3am and then again at 4 and 5am he got paged. Around 8am Lucy and I got up and came downstairs and he went up to bed for a while (he had been on the couch until we came down). Lucy really has been the master at climbing lately. She was climbing in and out of a laundry basket this morning and now really likes climbing up on the one chair so she can see out the living room window.

Thursday 3-3-11

Today was another boring day at home. We've been trying to keep Lucy inside as much as possible so that she can get over her cold/sinus infection and be well enough to have her MRI done on Tuesday.

In 24 hours time she has gone from being afraid to get down off the couch herself to a climbing machine. She will get up and down off the couch with ease and today she decided to climb inside her toy box while I was rearranging toys.

This evening Pap came over and watched Lucy at our house again while Nana and I went to the gym. Afterwards we went to JCP to take advantage of the 30% off coupon I got in the mail. Well... Nana took advantage. She got a lot of stuff, mostly for their upcoming vacation to Florida. She was looking for a new bathing suit and I'm really glad that I got to go with her because I talked her into trying on this really really cute one. I don't think she would have picked it out if she was by herself. She looked really hot in it and I think my Dad is really going to like it (how many people will say that about their parents. lol!) plus it might just embarass my brother to see his Mommy looking so hot. lol!! (They're taking my brother and his girlfriend this year). Here's the suit. I would have picked the pink/coral one but she ended up with the black one with the flowers (which is more her style anyways).

Wednesday 3-2-11

This morning I ordered a crib for the new baby. Nana wanted to buy one for him and she was looking at one at Target that had some mixed reviews. After a little online shopping, I found that JCP had the exact same crib we have for Lucy (which we love) for the same price as the cheap Target crib and I had a coupon for an extra 30% off!! I'm really excited for it to come in. And even moreso that we won't have to move Lucy to a toddler bed sooner which was making me nervous.

Today we'll be spending at home until this evening when we have hair cut appointments. I'm finally getting Lucy's hair trimmed. She had it trimmed once when she was about 7 months old to even up the bottom (she had a wicked tail going on) and hasn't been trimmed since then other than her bangs. It's now down past her shoulders and I'd like to get it all evened up. I'm hoping she does well and doesn't scream too much at the hair dresser.

Tuesday 3-1-11

This morning Lucy had her speech therapy lesson then Pap came over to do some odd jobs for us since he hasn't been working full time. He finally hung Lucy's closet doors (been promising to do that since she was born), fixed the gate to the kitchen and took a look at some pipes in our laundry room. After he left Lucy had lunch, then a nap and then played some. She is learning that we don't have to be right there for her to climb up on the couch so I had to pull it out (so she wouldn't destroy everything on my sofa table behind it) and I put pillows on the floor in front of it so she could get down easily. She didn't, she just stayed up there and cried because she couldn't figure out how to get down.

Monday 2-28-11

This morning the physical therapist came and then we just stayed home all day. Nana was supposed to come over in the evening because she saw a crib on sale at Target that she wanted to buy for the new baby and we were going to go check it out but after some online shopping, I found that the exact crib we have for Lucy (which I absolutely LOVE) is on a closeout sale through JCP for the exact same price as the one at Target... and I have a 30% off coupon for JCP, so we decided to just stay home and order the crib from JCP instead. I didn't take a picture today but I did find this adorable bedding online that I love. I won't buy it because I'm not spending $160 on a 4-piece set of which 2 pieces won't be used (bumpers and blanket) and the carpet in the baby's room is a burgundy color so it won't match anyways. I did try stealing the image that I love off the bedding to create my own "something" out of but haven't quite decided what, if anything, to do with it.

Sunday 2-27-11

Today is Uncle Adam's actual birthday. It was a busy morning for us. Joe had an appointment at Consol to donate blood because of a promotion they were having with the Pittsburgh Penguins. They were really unorganized and it ended up taking him almost an hour so we missed service but still got to church for nursery duty. After that we went to the grocery store with Grandma (Uncle Nick skipped because of Nursery) and then came home. This evening, while playing, Lucy figured out how to climb up on the couch. She still can't walk but she can now climb. I'm in trouble now!!

Saturday 2-26-11

This evening we went out for dinner to celebrate Uncle Adam's 26th birthday. He wanted to go to Texas Roadhouse, which is in Greensburg (a 45 minute drive). We didn't realize how busy that place gets and didn't call ahead or make reservations. When we got there and told them we had 9 people they said they could seat us at 9:30 pm (it was 6:30 when we got there) unless we split up. We decided to do that and put in our names for 5 and 4, they still told us it would be over and hour and a half so we went next door to TGI Friday's. They were able to seat all of us together in an hour. It was still really good and fun to spend the time together. I forgot to take a picture so I stole this one off my Mom's camera. She is TERRIBLE at taking pictures, especially with her new camera. It's the one side of the table with Emily (closest), Dee and Adam.

Friday 2-25-11

Today was a very hectic day! This morning I took Lucy to the pediatrician's office because she's had the same cough (remember how she couldn't have her MRI done on 2/10 because of it) for almost a month now. The doctor was really nice and said it could be a sinus infection because of the lingering cough and prescribed her antibiotics. From there we went to pick up her prescription, along with 2 other refills she needed and then came home. She got a quick nap in before the Physical Therapist came at 2pm. In the evening Daddy was able to come home a little early to watch Lucy because I was going to a mystery dinner thing with Nana. She and Pap were supposed to go with Uncle Mike and Emily but Pap's boss' retirement party ended up being tonight so I was filling in for Pap. I was nervous about it because it said there would be audience participation but it was a lot of fun and very little participation. There were only 3 "parts" that they cast from the audience and luckily I wasn't one of them. I tried taking a picture during the show (called I loathe Lucy) when Orson Welles came out because it was absolutely HILARIOUS the way the actor portrayed him but it didn't turn out well.

Thursday 2-24-11

This morning we went to the orthotics place so Lucy could have her orthotics fitted. Afterwards we went shopping for new shoes that the orthotics would fit into and to some other stores. We stopped at Nana's work for lunch and then came home. Joe took some cute pictures of Lucy tonight.

Big sister's are the coolest!

Wednesday 2-23-11

Another day at home then we went to Gram's for knitting. I seem to take a lot of pictures of Lucy by the dining room table. Maybe because she spends a lot of time walking around it and maybe because that's usually where the camera is and the only time I remember to grab it and take a picture for the day. lol!

Tuesday 2-22-11

Last night we got a lot of snow, more than predicted. When Joe was getting dressed for work I tried presuading him to work from home today but he said he better go in. He left and I brought Lucy downstairs for breakfast. 15 minutes later I opened the blinds to let some light in and see that Joe's still outside digging the van out. He did end up working from home and it was really nice of him to dig out the van in case I needed to go anywhere!

Monday 2-21-11

This morning we had our big ultrasound. Lucy stayed home with Grandma and Joe and I went to have it done. It was long but fun to see our new little baby. And we found out that it's a boy!!

Sunday 2-20-11

Typical Sunday, church then grocery store with Grandma and Uncle Nick. After that we dropped Uncle Nick off and Grandma came home with us. She spent the day and the night here so that she could watch Lucy in the morning for us while we went and had our ultrasound done. It worked out perfectly because tomorrow is President's Day so she has the day off anyways as a bank holiday. I forgot to take a picture though.

Saturday 2-19-11

Another boring Saturday. We're becoming very boring people. lol! Joe was playing Mario Kart a little bit today and it didn't take Lucy long to pick up the extra wheel and imitate what Joe was doing! It was so cute and funny!

Friday 2-18-11

We didn't do much today, just stayed home as we do most days. I didn't even take a picture today so I'll share an older but not really old picture. This is Faith, my cousin's baby, wearing a hat that I knitted and gave to her for Christmas. My Aunt took her picture in it and sent it to me as a text message on Wednesday when we were at knitting club.

Thursday 2-17-11

This evening Lucy went to Gigi and Papi's house while I went to the gym with Nana. Gigi called me as we were leaving the gym because Lucy had been miserable and she didn't know what to do anymore. I suggested putting her in the bath and told her I'd be there as soon as I could. When I got there Lucy was happily playing in the tub. She loves bath time! We never really did figure out what was wrong but I'm glad Gigi has something that should work almost every time if it happens again.

Wednesday 2-16-11

This evening we had knitting club at Gram's house as usual. On Monday I turned Lucy's carseat around to forward face and tonight I finally remembered to take a picture of her in it. Don't mind the face, she was almost asleep when I snapped the picture.

Tuesday 2-15-11

This morning Lucy went to Gigi and Papi's house while I went to my OB appointment. Everything's going well and we have our ultrasound on Monday!!

We came home and Lucy wanted to share all her dolls with me while I was on the computer so she put them all on the dining room table for me.

Monday 2-14-11

Happy Valentine's Day! This morning we had an appointment with the Physical Therapist to go get Lucy measured for orthotics for her feet to help her walk. Since that was in Monroeville, we stopped to visit Nana at work on the way home. Cathy was really nice and gave Lucy a cupcake to bring home and of course, Lucy loved it!

Sunday 2-13-11

Sunday as usual. Church then grocery shopping with Grandma and Uncle Nick. On the way home we stopped at Sam's Club to get a few things. And who could resist some Valentine's cupcakes. Lucy was so excited about them!!

Saturday 2-12-11

A boring Saturday. We didn't do anything at all today. Here's Lucy in her high chair getting ready to eat lunch.

Friday 2-11-11

Nothing much going on today. Lucy got some new shoes that she recently wore to Gigi and Papi's house and they were hurting her feet so we cut the elastic band off of them and they seem to work much better now. Here's Lucy modeling her sparkly shoes in her "undies". :)

Thursday 2-10-11

This morning we were up before dawn to take Lucy to Children's for her MRI. Her appt was at 7am and we had to be there by 6:15. We went through registration and everything and then the doctor came in, listened to her chest and said that we should reschedule because her lungs sounded raspy because she has a little bit of a cough. The worst part was that the next available date to reschedule on was March 8th.

We spent the rest of the day at home doing nothing. Here's my very tall and very smart little girl getting ahold of my mouse for my laptop and trying to use it.
